Salt Lake City Airport layover

I was on my way to visit my Sister in Washington from OC Calif. Had a layover at the Salt Lake City Airport. Went to the gift shop and scoured the magazines. I came across this cover of"Salt Lake City" magazine! I was totally in awe of this with the colors florals and all, so I sketched and painted her from the cover. I just found this while going through my collections/storage/stash of stuff~ Her lips are running and the hat rim could have been defined, still my favorite painting with all the boo boos...:)

Vintage quilts at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

This first little number was the STAR of the show!
"Star string quilt"

I was SO pleasantly surprised to see antique quilts at the show...There was a designated corner in between two quaint antique shops in town...
Here are some pics we captured.

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show July 9, 2011

What a wonderful day to have a quilt show!! Moderate temps and a slight breeze made for a glorious day in Sisters Oregon breathing in all of the inspiration presented to us with hanging quilts everywhere. I'll be posting more pictures so stay posted cause I took lots!
Have fun and enjoy the talents, fabrics, western buildings and snow capped mountains surrounding our historical downtown.
